De Playtest at DePaul University

3D Model of T-34

If you ask any Game Designer what's the most important step in creating a game, just about all will answer PLAYTESTING. The wonderfully terrifying but necessary process in which you take the game you have worked so hard on, and give it to someone to play. Almost 100% of the time it does not play the way you intended it to do. However, the feedback is what makes Playtesting so imperative to designing a game. Learning from your mistakes and listening to others as well as seeing how your game plays out is how you can greatly improve it to fit your vision. Sometimes there are suggestions or solutions that arise that will completely change up the game for the better.

At Thru The Door Games constantly playtesting and reiterating our ideas is something we value. CommuniTEA is no different from this, we have gone through numerous playtests and improved it many times over. With every playtest we can see our CommuniTEA come together bit by bit. After much work on the paper prototype and then even more playtests on the Alpha build we are nearing the end of the design work. Much of our Aesthetics are nearly complete and we are doing final touch ups. However, there is still much to do we are getting close to finishing everyday.

With that said, we are proud to announce that we are collaborating with the Game Design Students at DePaul University. Tomorrow we will be sending the newest iteration of CommuniTEA to the wonderful Students at DePaul University so they can give us their insight on what we can improve on.

We'll keep you posted!
